How to distinguish between diamond drill and alloy drill?

Ordinary diamond drills can't see the cutting edge, only a lot of small protrusions (very small diamonds) can be seen on the surface of the bit. If the surface of the drill is painted and has not been used, of course you will not see the reflection of the diamond.

What is the cause of diamond drill bit wear?

1. The bottom lip surface of the drill becomes smooth and the footage is slow, indicating that the carcass is too hard. 2. The bottom of the carcass becomes inner and outer cones, indicating that the inner and outer diameter of the drill bit is insufficient, or the broken rock has been drilled. 3. The drill bit wears unevenly and there is partial wear, indicating that the concentricity of the drill bit and the drill tool is poor, and the nozzle and flume specifications are inconsistent.

Hard alloy drills have obvious blades and inserts. The surface of these cutter heads is flat.

Of course, this can only distinguish the general situation. For surface-mounted PCD diamond drill bits, the style is very similar to that of cemented carbide drill bits. However, the blades of cemented carbide drills are lead-grey, while the inserts of PCD are generally black glass.

4. The outer diameter of the drill bit is severely worn, or even ground into a cone, which indicates that the drill bit has been sweeping holes or probe stones for a long time, or the outer diameter of the drill bit is poorly reinforced. 5. The inner diameter of the drill bit is severely worn and even ground into a flared shape, indicating that the drill bit has swept the core for a long time, the core is blocked, or the inner diameter of the drill bit is poorly reinforced.
